Description

Always curious about new scientific discoveries, the atom has become one of Salvador Dalí's favorite topics of reflection. Dalí borrows the Madonna painting from Raphael Sanzio to invent the Maximum Speed of Raphael's Madonna. It breaks down into spheres, geometrically perfect figures, and forms resembling rhinoceros horns as Dalí discovers logarithmic spiral forms based on the Golden Ratio.

Inspired by the so-called “atomic era” of Dalí, Malabar designers conceived the Madonna stool. This art-filled stool features four marble spheres and two upholstered layers of jacquard velvet. This art-inspired stool will enrich your interiors by placing it at selected points in your home decor. The Madonna stool was designed by Malabar and is part of the Future Classics collection.

The Malabar brand was founded in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the elegant World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory series.

Malabar has left its mark at major international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing.

Malabar furniture production comes from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this prestigious brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries. International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that guide such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of luxurious furniture. Various techniques of working with natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections.

An important aspect of their design is the combination of neutral and black colors. Vivid and bold hues dominate, diverging significantly from classic and stereotypical furniture. Besides wood, the manufacturer uses brass, gold and silver leaf, and other high-quality raw materials. The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in their daring furniture designs.

The company's name itself derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart bold maritime routes. Even today, Malabar sets very individual boundaries in design and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely luxurious.

What raw materials does Malabar use?

The company employs the most exclusive types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, elm, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, irregular grain, poplar, satinwood, and ash.
