The collaboration of these two highly creative individuals gave rise to a distinctive and fresh perspective on art. They proudly emphasize that Ongaro & Fuga is a centuries-old tradition, through which they revive the magic and elegance of Venetian mirrors.

Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. Through collaboration with renowned artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a great nod to family and multi-generational craftsmanship. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides vibrant material for new projects. Many of these majestic mirrors are faithful reproductions of historic pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – a very important consortium that is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. For over twenty years, they have been continuously working to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old Murano glass art. This is an extremely important initiative that does a lot of good for cultural heritage. Ongaro & Fuga are proud of their Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano.

How are these famous mirrors made?

This is a truly extraordinary product. The reflection of this beauty is a very long process. It is the result of work done with hands, heart, and soul. That is why Ongaro & Fuga’s exquisite mirrors come with a price. The effort involved often exceeds 100 hours and can include thousands of decorative elements. This is true luxury and a prime example of how strong European family workshops are. For centuries, artisans have driven the evolution of the premium industry, shaping the final appearance of the product with their hands. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design, using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones. Step by step, sharpening sharp edges and smoothing out imperfections. And so, from a brilliant idea, an exclusive harmony emerges that combines tradition with modernity! It’s magic—these mirrors, if they wish, can become the focal point of your interior.
