Contrary to this trend, the philosophy of Berti Knives focuses on producing exceptional knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory appears to be completely independent of the trends that have dominated the industry over the years. Their core principle is a commitment to tradition, which is still upheld by the fourth generation of Italian artisans.
The founders strongly oppose the idea of mass production by random labor forces, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity in their products. Therefore, their work philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this Italian family is not closed to change. Changes are welcome, provided they do not conflict with their existing vision and can meet long-term quality standards.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of workers, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles are crafted from materials including bison, buffalo, deer horns, and 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage treating their products with proper respect, despite being designed for everyday use, as this ensures their longevity. Each piece is a small, unique work of art.
