Contrary to this trend, the philosophy of Berti Knives focuses on producing exceptional knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufacturer appears to be completely independent of the trends that have influenced the global market over the years. Its core principle is a commitment to tradition, which is still upheld by the fourth generation of Italian artisans.
The founders strongly oppose the idea of mass production by random labor forces, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity in the products. Therefore, their company's work philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed personnel. This does not mean, however, that this Italian family is closed to change. Changes are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing vision and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the individual stages of knife manufacturing are not handled by specialized groups of workers, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles include materials such as buffalo horns, bison horns, deer antlers, and 'bosso' wood.
