Contrary to this situation, the philosophy of Berti Knives, a manufacturer of exclusive knives for various purposes, stands apart. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small workshop appears to be entirely autonomous from the trends that have dominated the world throughout its history. Their main guiding principle is a commitment to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of these skilled artisans.
The founders firmly oppose the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity in the knives produced. Therefore, their work philosophy places great emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very much desired, provided they bring elements consistent with the existing vision and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized groups of workers but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles include materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, and 'bosso' wood.
The owners recommend that their products, although intended for everyday use, be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their longevity. Each one is a small, unique artifact.
