The philosophy of Berti Knives, a manufacturer of exclusive knives for various purposes, differs from this trend. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the small workshop appears to be entirely autonomous from the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years. Its core idea is a commitment to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of these master craftsmen.
The owners strongly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity in the knives produced. For this reason, their work philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to new ideas. They are very much welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized sections of workers but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, and handles include materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, and 'bosso' wood.
