The brand's origins date back to 1988 and a small London workshop. The ambitions of the people creating these products led to the brand's development. The true success came from new British artisans who inspired the original creators. Over time, ideas grew, and Porta Romana became a global brand.

The design studio is led by Shazeen Emambux. The artists discuss their concepts with manufacturers to create designer pieces. Each year, a new collection theme is developed, each with its own unique character and style. The process of creating these products is very lengthy, starting from 3D graphics and evolving into prototypes.
