The brand “Mila Maurizi” represents the final act of a craft tradition dating back to the 1940s, when Luigi Maurizi, a highly talented weaving master, began producing stylish wicker handbags and baskets. Soon after, Maurizi expanded his markets, increasing the number of collaborators and employees to the point that in Mogliano, Maurizi contributed to the creation of a craft guild dedicated to wicker weaving.
Passion for expertly crafted items is also shared by Giuseppe’s children: Mila and Maurizio, who in the early 1990s are the architects of the family business’s further entrepreneurial evolution.
With Giuseppe (Peppe), Luigi’s son, joining the company and inspired by his vision of the enormous potential of his father’s workshop, new raw materials such as reed and bamboo were introduced, suitable for garden furniture production as well as elegant furniture accessories. Today, the brand has reached its third generation with Mila, a young entrepreneur who passionately and competently continues her family’s long craft tradition, offering new interior solutions and innovative home accessories. However, the core values remain unchanged: craftsmanship, quality, and mastery in the art of weaving, still meticulously performed by skilled hands.
The decision to maintain “Made in Italy” production reflects a desire to elevate skills and preserve the ancient craft traditions of this region. The transformation of the company from a workshop of the 1950s is significant, yet it remains firmly rooted in Marche through solid foundations.
