Description

Venetian glass chandelier in amethyst color, early 20th century, four-arm Murano glass pendant lamp in the Venini style, in violet-pink hue. This blown glass Venetian chandelier in amethyst color dates from the early 20th century and is an example of Venetian craftsmanship. The elegant amethyst shade adds a touch of sophistication and style to any space it adorns.

The chandelier originates from the 1930s and features a very original design. It has a round basket shape, with the lower bulb ending in a droplet-shaped hanging lamp decorated with four curved arms topped with lights directed upwards. The upper shade is connected with chains made of blown glass beads, oval and round. Intricate, handcrafted details make this a unique and valuable piece. It is a decorative element of high artistic and historical value, a testament to the skill and tradition of Venetian glass masters. It works with four E14 bulbs using the existing electrical installation.

Beautiful antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for interior decoration. Today, there is a growing number of enthusiasts of high-quality vintage items that possess a distinct character and soul. It’s a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the creation of traditional and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its own distinctive features.

Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few stand out as the most important. Eclectic furniture hails from the 19th century, during the reign of the Biedermeier style. Its early 20th-century variants include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis Philippe style, and the English Victorian style. By the end of the century, these styles evolved into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.

Original Empire-style furniture dates from the late 18th to early 19th century, inspired by Napoleon’s reign. It features significant similarities and references to Roman and Greek ornamentation.

Neoclassical furniture is associated with Louis XVI style, which also strongly references ancient architecture. Noteworthy are antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles. Baroque, derived from the Portuguese word 'barocco'—meaning an irregularly developed pearl—was characterized by very ornate furniture meant to shine with splendor and play a significant role in luxury. Unique, selectively used materials were employed to emphasize the grandeur of these pieces.

Today, we can observe how the Baroque style has greatly influenced modern classical furniture, which is designed with a strong resemblance to the historical period. The Renaissance style is also significant, flourishing in the 15th and 16th centuries and leaving a profound mark on furniture design. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and massive, using brown stains, moldings, sturdy bases, and relief carvings. These products were quite distinctive but also opened new possibilities, such as the construction of credenzas and broadly defined chest furniture. Mythology and ancient themes were also popular, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.

Lion paws, eagle heads—these are common motifs in Renaissance-style furniture. Currently, many global brands reproduce such furniture, inspired by Italian and French artisans. This reflects admiration and respect for the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that furniture production was perceived differently in each country, and each style had its unique character. This is especially important when searching for a luxurious antique that fits your interior.

The key to stylish antique furniture is originality. Ultimately, this is crucial from the customer’s perspective, as many counterfeit items circulate on the market. Luxury Products provides documentation confirming the product’s authenticity and compliance with the description and photos.
