Alfa Romeo, one of the leading and longest-standing Italian car manufacturers, built this car as a monument to itself. Its extraordinary styling and distinctive appearance have since been admired and praised worldwide.

In close collaboration with the Alfa Romeo “Storico” museum, CMC transformed it into a high-end premium model. A model-making masterpiece created in honor of an important event in racing history.

The 8C 2900B Special Touring Coupé was made to order and is now the pride of the Alfa Romeo “Storico” museum in Arese, Italy. The vehicle not only has an interesting history but also an impressive and unique appearance.

Originally, the 8C 2900B was built for the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1938. It was equipped with a closed body (Berlinetta) designed by Touring specialists based on aerodynamic research into lightweight construction — patented technology known as Touring Superleggera (aluminum body). The car was complemented by an optimized 8-cylinder inline engine with 220 HP and essential accessories for night racing at Le Mans.

Despite having a better advantage during the race, the 8C was unable to finish. A tire blowout and subsequent valve failure ended the pursuit of a seemingly certain victory.

After the race, the car was completely repaired and sold into private hands. Over time, it belonged to several owners. Ultimately, the car was brought to England, from where in the 1980s it was imported into the collection of the Alfa Romeo “Storico” museum in exchange for a Grand Prix racing car, the Tipo 158 Alfetta. Storico decided to restore the car as a street version with its original dark red finish.

Since then, this one-of-a-kind rarity has captivated every visitor to the museum.
