Cape Dezhnyov or Cape Dezhnev is a cape that forms the east most mainland point of Eurasia. It is located on the Chukchi Peninsula in the very thinly populated Chukotka Autonomous Okrug of Russia.

This cape is located between the Bering Sea and the Chukchi Sea, 82 km across from Cape Prince of Wales in Alaska. The Bering Strait lies in between and the Diomede Islands and Fairway Rock are located in the midst of the strait. The cape is the eastern tip of a high, rocky headland, about 20 km from Uelen in the north to Cape Pe’ek in the south, connected to the mainland by a neck of lower-lying land peppered with swamps and shallow lakes. That low-lying land is so low in elevation that the cape appears as an island from a distance far to the west of it.

Technical description

Base, body and rudder are made of DM wood fire painted. The five columns are made in Zinc Alloy and the base is decorated with Damascene with 24 kt gold. Some of the parts such base and body iscovered by Spanish leather. The bottle and cup glass is made containing a load of 24% Pb. Etching of glass is handmade and the decoration is made with two‐tone 24 kt gold. Please be informed we do not recommend using the washing‐machine, to clean them use just a tissue with water for the glass part and for the damascene part a dry tissue.
