Murano Glass Chalcedon is a type of glass characterized by a unique, iridescent surface created by adding metal flakes to the glass mixture. The result is a piece of glass that appears to have a shimmering effect, with swirling patterns of various colors running through it.
Particularly challenging to produce, chalcedony glass combines silver salts and other coloring oxides with the canonical glass melting process: it is this extraordinary chemical process, combined with the talent of the Murano masters, that allows for the creation of marvelous works with a dark, matte background interspersed with enchanting warm and dark tones, a true whirl of lights and shadows, capable of captivating even the most experienced observer's eye with fantastic swirls.
We include a certificate of authenticity with all our works, handcrafted from Murano glass using the technique of heat moderation and fusion.
