Murano glass (chalcedony) is a type of glass characterized by an exceptional, opalescent surface created by adding metal flakes to the glass mixture. As a result, the piece of glass appears to shimmer and gleam, with colorful swirls running through it.
Particularly difficult to produce, chalcedony glass stands out because it combines traditional molten glass with silver salts and other coloring oxides.
