Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for high-quality design and a long tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling exquisite rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, and later in 1920, a second in Rovigo, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori’s innovative rug designs started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand capitalized on this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the whole world. These luxurious rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a coveted item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so significantly that it became necessary to establish headquarters in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. From collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., a modern idea took shape: using old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This process results in a unique and highly distinctive rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly suits contemporary environments and the needs of modern furniture.
All our rugs are entirely handmade using exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international brand selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-designed rugs. Our rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
