Description
Fabryka Gambaro & Tagliapietra specializes in the production of artistic glass objects (arguably the most classic and popular product type alongside chandelier processing): small and large superior masterpieces of craftsmanship, starting from traditional elements – colorful bowls, incredible vases, plates, wonderful animals, chandeliers, elite table lamps, beautiful decanters, glasses, sculptures – up to actual collection pieces made in exclusive and limited editions for discerning clients seeking uniqueness.
Murano glass has deep and ancient roots in Venice. It has moments of glory and success alternated with phases of difficulty and crisis. What is extraordinary and unique is that on this small lagoon island in Venice, for over eight centuries, glass art has reached a level of elegance, technique, and skill that is unmatched by any other glassmaking reality in the world: ‘’there is glass and Murano glass’’! Ancient techniques are combined with a modern approach to the entire painstaking production process, because only such a blend creates a luxurious whole. Gold leaf, intense pastel colors, somewhat childish and abstract designs, the use of silver on a black glass base – these are exceptionally vibrant distinctive features of the company.
Gambaro & Tagliapietra srl is part of the Promovetro Consortium, which brings together leading artisanal companies in traditional processing, whose products are entirely handcrafted in accordance with high standards of Murano glass craftsmanship. It is also a licensee, with code no. 022, of the "Vetro Artistico di Murano" brand, guaranteeing that the Veneto region only recognizes furnaces that produce on Murano. The brand has executed special projects for Costa Cruises, Sheraton, Lange Ski, Pirelli, Osram, Mionetto, Prada Foundation, Federal Express, Harry's Bar, Wella France, Mondadori, Venetian Las Vegas, Moma Shop NY, Louvre Shop Paris, Cartier, Ferrari, Mercedes, Walt Disney Shops, Christian Dior, Mavive, Tequila Asombroso, etc. On average, 80% of production is exported worldwide. Among current and former clients are: Harrods, El Corte Inglés, Lane Crawford, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Smithsonian, H. Heine, AMC NY, Bergdorf Goodman, Daimaru, Corning Glass Center, American Craft Museum, Yagikena, Patchi, Gump's, and many others.
Gambaro & Tagliapietra Srl, licensee of the Vetro Artistico® Murano brand with code 022, is pleased to announce the implementation of the "new traceability brand".
What is the Murano Glass artistic logo? It is a collective mark established by the Veneto region under law no. 70 of December 23, 1994, and managed by the Promovetro Murano Consortium, certifying that products are made on the island of Murano.
Why a brand? To protect one of the symbols of Made in Italy worldwide, and at the same time to guarantee the consumer the authenticity of a product that results from a millennia-old artistic tradition born and developed on the island of Murano.
What does it guarantee me? Confidence that I purchased a product made in Murano according to criteria consistent with traditional Murano craftsmanship techniques.
Who can benefit from it? Only companies producing artistic glass on Murano can apply to the Veneto region: if authorized, they become licensees of the Glass Art Murano® trademark.
How does it work? Licensees place a self-adhesive label with security features on their products, incorporating various safety and traceability elements that clearly confirm their origin.
How is the seal created? The sticker reproduces the Vetro Artistico® Murano brand logo and can be red or blue depending on the type of processing. At the top is the manufacturer's identification code. Since 2016, the label also bears a serial number and data matrix code that unambiguously identify the product, serving as its "identity card".
How can I verify the authenticity of a product using the sticker? By reading the data matrix code with any dedicated app or via the free Original Murano Glass app, or alternatively through the dedicated website www.muranoglass.com/original-murano-glass.

| Materiały i techniki produkcji | AVVENTURINA – glassy paste invented by Murano glassmakers in the 17th century. Small, lamellar crystals of glassy copper, shining like stars. Extracted in blocks from the kiln, already slowly cooled, and its transformation can seriously affect its characteristic appearance. It is then cut cold like a hard or hot stone using special means. Metal form with cross-relief effect on glass. The bullying or "bubble" effect, consisting of countless very small air bubbles between two layers of glass. A particular decorative effect used in thick glass and consisting of a multitude of "bubbles", large or small, arranged in superimposed layers in a glass wall. A semi-finished product consisting of a massive or perforated vitreous "wand" and then cut into sections of various lengths. This is already documented in 15th century Murano glass, which refers to the master as a "canér" (canker). Venetian crystal. A type of decoration obtained by heating, by placing blown glass wire around the walls, which is then "combed" with a special tool to obtain repeating festoons. Filigree - A refined hot decorative technique, invented in Murano in the first half of the 16th century. Complex processing of "filigree" blown glass requires the use of crystal rods, previously prepared from vitreous "lattimo" or colored, smooth or spiral threads. |
