Sartori is an Italian company born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for high-quality design and a centuries-old tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling beautiful rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, and later in 1920, a second in Rovigo, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when the modern design of Sartori rugs started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand seized this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the whole world. These exciting rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it became necessary to open headquarters in China. An important project was launched in 2008. Following collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., a modern idea took shape: using old rugs to create something entirely new and give them a second life, in a fresh and youthful style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, repainted, and hand-sewn. This process results in a unique and very special rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly fits modern environments and the needs of contemporary furniture.
All our rugs are entirely handcrafted using exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international brand selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-designed rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
