Description
The company INGA stands for "Industria Nazionale Gessi e Affini" and was founded in the early 1950s by the Sgambaro family.
It was one of the four Italian companies producing chalk for school blackboards, an indispensable aid in education and entertainment for thousands of children and teenagers at the time. In addition to blackboard chalk, INGA produced "affini," meaning other chalk products, such as stuccos, which are packaged and sold in powder or paste form. In the 1960s and 70s, INGA also added decorative interior elements to its blackboard chalk production. This way, the INGA brand became one of the leading producers of prestigious decorative stuccos, such as rosettes, frames, and wall and ceiling cornices, which were very fashionable at the time, ordered and installed in homes as decorative elements.
Over the years, Inga gradually moved away from mass production to focus exclusively on creating artistic objects that reflect a passion for beauty, culture, and elegance. INGA transformed into a true art laboratory, where unique, refined, and personalized gypsum pieces are created for clients worldwide.
