Elio Ferrara was born in Naples in 1945. His works are still remembered today in Italy and around the world; however, the place where he was most appreciated was his beloved France. Here, he created Paris-inspired themes using powerful painting techniques; thus, markets, outdoor bars, bistros, crowded avenues, and nostalgic faces of local women and men come to life.
Elio Ferrara is also a respected orientalist, having briefly lived in Cairo; there, captivated by the local colors, he described its customs and traditions.
