The philosophy of Berti Knives, a company producing exceptional knives for various purposes, differs from this approach. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory appears to be entirely independent of the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years. Its core value is a commitment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of these Italian artisans.
The owners strongly oppose the idea of mass production by random labor forces, which they believe would lead to the loss of the identity of their products. Therefore, their company's philosophy emphasizes the importance of their employed staff. This does not mean, however, that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing vision and can meet long-term quality standards.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized artisan sections but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
High-quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, and handles are, among others, crafted from bison, buffalo, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
