However, the philosophy of Berti Knives differs in this regard, a brand that produces exceptional knives for various purposes. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory appears to be entirely independent of the trends that have dominated the world throughout its history. Their core principle is fidelity to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders of the brand strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered products. Therefore, their company's philosophy emphasizes the importance of their staff. This does not mean, however, that this Italian family is closed to new ideas. Innovations are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not carried out by specialized groups of artisans, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The highest quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from, among others, bison, buffalo, or deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
