Manufaktura Coltelleri Saladini produces knives and kitchen accessories with forged blades. Each blade features an engraved manufacturer’s logo, which is a mark of authenticity and a guarantee of quality.

Marking is done during the craft process, when the blade is not yet hardened.

Saladini is very selective in choosing steel – mainly using hardened stainless steel with high or 100% carbon content.

For creating blades, Saladini uses two processes: rolling and forging.

The rolling method is used for manufacturing knife blades, cigar cutters, and certain lines of table knives. These blades are cut from steel sheets, the thickness of which depends on the intended use of the knife.

The most complex process involves forging blades with a hammer and anvil, used for kitchen and table knives as well as collector’s items. Hand-forging allows for creating the proper shapes of blades, bolsters, and tips, which are then fitted into the handle.

After tempering, both types of blades are hardened and annealed during heat treatment, which, depending on the steel composition, determines the correct hardness for an optimal cutting edge. Saladini’s producers combine innate design knowledge with awareness of modern market needs.
