The inspiration for the Roccantica model came to Janis Provizor during a trip to Umbria. At that time, co-founder of Fort Street Studio decided to experiment with the possibilities offered by a simple-to-assemble and beautifully straightforward line structure. The company's other co-founder, Brad Davis, suggested that her adventure be modeled after a rug named after the town where Janis spent her Umbrian holidays.
The rug is made of 100% wild silk, with a weaving density of 120 knots. The main advantages of the Fort Street Studio brand are the highest quality yarns and silk threads, meticulous color matching, and a completely new approach to dyeing. The company's rugs are always masterpieces of the highest standard, a synergy of artistic power and functional aesthetics.
Fort Street Studio is a company founded by two creators – Janis Provizor and Brad Davis, who decided to transplant their love of art into interior design. Before jointly creating their own brand, their works were exhibited, among others, at the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum, and Albright Knox Gallery.
Thanks to the creativity and skills of the pair, a unique brand was born – based on unusual, inventive patterns and carefully selected materials. Fort Street Studio – the company's name comes from the street where the artists lived – has been setting new trends in interior design since 1997. They have showcased their products at fairs in Paris, London, and Milan, and in 2010, they established a collaboration with the French department store Hermès.
