Sold as new to David Piper, a racing driver from the United Kingdom in 1963, this 250 GTO with right-hand drive was finished in a bright racing green BP color. Piper raced this car with considerable success at many venues, including Mallory Park, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Daytona, and Monza, among others. During the winter of 1963/64, he modified the chassis 4491 with a chopped windshield and a re-profiled roof. The car changed hands several times until 1981, when its current Italian owner restored it to its original configuration, removing Piper's modifications. The vehicle presented by CMC participated in races at Silverstone on July 20, 1963, finishing second overall and second in the GT class. Additional achievements include 4th OA at Monza and 1st OA at Kyalami, to name just a few.
