The MIKADO collection is inspired by the game “Pick Up Sticks,” which we played as children. Copper, brass, or stainless steel rods resembling the game of Mikado sticks are cut at precise angles and assembled with great accuracy into furniture, providing essential support. The tabletop features wooden inlays deliberately arranged in various directions to create a geometric pattern.
In 2018, the Mikado collection received the “Silver A’ Design Award” in the category of “Furniture, Decorative Articles, and Home Accessories.” This piece is entirely handcrafted in Portugal and produced artisanally. Every stage of the process is carefully executed or supervised by the creator within a small workshop setting.
