Description
The beautiful design of products combined with the meticulous firing of clay from the Impruneta quarries gives us the image of the brand Goti Terrecotte d’Arte.
Goti Terrecotte boasts over fifty years of experience born from the strong passions of its owner, Giancarlo. Mr. Giancarlo began his journey as an apprentice ceramic decorator, and later, after marrying Mrs. Fiorella Goti, he opened a small artisan workshop in Sesto Fiorentino. Expansion occurred within a few years, and in 1973, progress was made in establishing his brand in Calenzano, a few kilometers from Florence, in Tuscany. The knowledge Giancarlo gained over the years led to experimentation with materials and production techniques:
- Artistic casting of ceramics, which replaces the traditional casting process
- Use of clay from the Impruneta quarries to produce frost-resistant pots with a unique family recipe mixed and kneaded with water to create professional or outdoor food ovens with highly certified resistance and quality of refractory terracotta fired at 1040 °C.
A well-equipped laboratory allows for the handmade and personalized creation of jars, tiles, statues, pots, vases, sinks, chimneys, custom bricks, bas-reliefs, and various types of decorations. The production department dedicated to wood-fired ovens has allowed Goti Terrecotte to be recognized internationally as a reference point in the market for refractory wood-fired terracotta ovens for professional, domestic, and garden use.
The product range, from classic to modern furniture, includes over 1000 items in the catalog. Additionally, the company is prepared to produce items based on drawings or orders. "90% of the production goes to the 'customer's garden'," says Giancarlo, owner of Goti Terrecotte d'Autore.
Artifacts are left to cook for 5 days in a dedicated kiln at a temperature of 1040 °C. Only careful drying before firing prevents cracking during firing and ensures high mechanical resistance. High quality is guaranteed, certified, and verified in the refractory mass laboratory. The raw materials used for processing come directly from the Impruneta quarries. The clay present in the Impruneta area gives the finished product a unique color and extraordinary frost resistance.
For this reason, Goti Terrecotte seeks and acquires the prestigious Impruneta clay: an unparalleled raw material with admirable properties, primarily "frost resistance," meaning it does not absorb water and thus withstands even the lowest temperatures almost indefinitely. Naturally, the production process is also refined and more complex, with longer times: Impruneta clay is processed through molding, has very slow drying times, and also cooking times at extremely high temperatures.
