A tasteful JRO globe from the 20th century

Globus JRO Globus from around 1950 made of papier-mâché, of German origin; it is a political globe with a diameter of 33 centimeters, produced by JRO Globus from Munich. It is labeled in German and dates from the 1950s. It depicts the political division of the world, borders of individual countries, and the names of nations, presented at a scale of 1:50,000,000. This is an important cartographic tool providing information about global political geography and used for educational and research purposes.

The map was printed in twelve sections, skillfully assembled; the globe rotates on an aluminum meridian ring, supported by a plastic disk decorated with faux wood.
