With pride, we present the exceptionally designer craftsmanship of Ongaro & Fuga, founded in 1954 by Franco Fuga and his wife Tullia Ongaro. The collaboration of these two highly creative individuals gave rise to a bold and fresh perspective on art. They proudly emphasize that Ongaro & Fuga is a centuries-old tradition, through which they revive the magic and prestige of Venetian mirrors.

Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. Through collaboration with international artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a significant nod to family and multi-generational craftsmanship. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides vibrant material for new projects. Many of these elite mirrors are faithful reproductions of historic pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – a very important consortium, which is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. For over twenty years, they have been continuously working to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old Murano glass art. This is an extremely important initiative that does a lot of good for cultural heritage. Ongaro & Fuga are proud to hold the Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano.

How are these famous mirrors made?

This is a truly extraordinary product in its essence. The reflection of this beauty is a very long process. Crafted with the work of hands, heart, and soul. For this reason, the outstanding Ongaro and Fuga mirrors come at a premium price. The work involved often exceeds 100 hours and can include thousands of decorative elements. This is true luxury and an example of how strong European family workshops are. For centuries, it has been artisans who drove the evolution of the premium industry, shaping the final appearance of the product with their own hands. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design. Using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones. Step by step, refining sharp edges and imperfections. And so, from a brilliant idea, an exclusive harmony emerges that combines tradition with modernity! It’s magic—these mirrors, if they wish, will become the focal point of your interior.
