Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for high-quality design and a centuries-old tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling beautiful rugs in Verona, opening his first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, as the modern rug designs by Sartori gained popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand seized this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the world. These elegant rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a coveted item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it became necessary to open headquarters in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. Following a collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., a modern idea took shape: using old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, in a fresh and youthful style. This gave birth to the Vintage Patchwork Carpet, which tells a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, repainted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, made from noble materials and perfectly suited to contemporary environments and modern furniture needs.
All our rugs are entirely handcrafted using high-quality noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international manufacturer selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-made designer rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
