The beginnings of W&W’s New York operation date back to 2001, when Michael Mandapati decided to establish a company unlike any other. They use, for example, Himalayan wool, mulberry silk, as well as nettles, hemp, or linen for production. Most of the dyes are plant-based, which will surely appeal to all enthusiasts of eco-friendly raw material processing.
Each product is handcrafted in Nepal by highly skilled weavers. Afterwards, the rugs are transported to Switzerland, where they are finished to achieve their final appearance. Thanks to increased lanolin content, these products are softer, more stain-resistant, and gain a distinctive sheen.
