Description

Frank Lloyd Wright's vision led him not to build the Guggenheim Museum in New York at a time when architectural excellence was lacking. The decision to take on the challenge and design the organic-shaped Guggenheim in the heart of a redeveloped area was a pivotal moment for the city.

Impressive from the outside, the spiral interior decor provides visitors with a gentle descent to view the art. The Volute Malabar table honors the Prairie School of architecture, inspired by modernist design.

Intarsia technique is used to apply ironwood to the oval tabletop. Below, black lacquer and ironwood adorn the legs, which spiral downward toward the ground.

Malabar Factory was established in 2012, launching a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and an elegant furniture collection by World Architects. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory series.

Malabar has made its mark at the most prestigious international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing.

Malabar’s design originates from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, known for its long-standing tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this luxury brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-inspired design create an explosive blend of elegant furniture.

The use of various techniques in working with natural wood results in incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.

Vivid and bold colors dominate, significantly diverging from classic and stereotypical furniture.

Besides wood, the manufacturer uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in the daring furniture designs.

The company's name itself derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a bold maritime route.

Even today, Malabar sets very individual boundaries in design and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, daring, and extremely luxurious.

And these are the products we love and introduce to the My Luxury Products platform.

What raw materials does Malabar use in its production?

The brand employs the most refined types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, beech, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, irregular grain, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also uses ancient lacquer techniques. First, copper, gold, silver, pink, and tiger-colored leaf are applied, then lacquered.

The types of glass used by the manufacturer include: dark glass, smoked, gold, antique, and antique brown.

The marble varieties are diverse, including: Sahara, Gray Kenzo, Nero Marquina, Portoro, Gris Douro, Black Gold, Guatemala Verde, Tiger’s Eye, Ochiro, Calacatta Vagli, Estremoz, Carrara gold, Carrara, White Extremez, and travertine.

Metals are selected based on efficiency and quality. High-quality premium metals such as copper, stainless steel, and galvanized steel are used. Specifically, chrome, nickel-plated black brass, polished brass, gilded brass, polished copper, antique brass, silver brass, brushed brass, polished brass, and hammered polished copper.

We would be happy to arrange a meeting and present all available materials about the Malabar brand. Our Luxury Products team will advise and select the most suitable furnishings and accessories for your interiors.
