The philosophy of Berti Knives, a brand producing exceptional knives for various uses, is different. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory seems entirely detached from the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years. Its most important value is fidelity to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders of the brand strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity in the products made. Therefore, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed staff. This does not mean, however, that this Italian family is closed to any innovations. They are highly desirable, provided they bring elements consistent with the existing vision and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the different stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized groups of workers but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
