This painting by A. Granatie is a reinterpretation of the artwork “Port of Marseille 1763” by the greatest master, Claude Joseph Vernet. Vernet, representing nature, left large open spaces in the sky as well as scenes of everyday life that enlivened various locations. Perhaps no landscape painter or marine artist has ever depicted human figures as Vernet did. The fundamental elements of the presented scenes are considered important factors of the overall composition.
