A modern round small table inspired by the architecture of ancient Greece - Insidherland

Ionic side tables are based on one of the three classical architectural orders developed in ancient Greek temples called Ionic. Unlike the Doric, the oldest and most massive order, the columns of the Ionic and Corinthian orders consisted of three elements: the base, the shaft, and the capital. As symbols of worship, over the centuries many impressive temples were destroyed or simply fell into ruin.

The remains of Ionic temples with their beautifully preserved columns inspired the creation of Ionic side tables, each featuring a three-part column missing one of its elements. This approach to an incomplete Ionic column uniquely presents unadorned forms of the base and capital, as the missing shaft is replaced with a modern metal structure comprising two separate elements.

The Ionic side tables, counteracting the process of ancient temple construction, feature a delicate tapering design that allows for less contact with the floor, referencing how freeform modern designs would have been applied in the three-sided structure of a classical temple.

The extensive correlation of spiritual memories and creative furniture designs is a hallmark of the Portuguese brand. Insidherland was entirely created by Joanne Santos Barbosa in 2012 and reflects high-quality prestige.
