One of the famous Titans, punished by Zeus, who bears the globe on his shoulders, has been frequently depicted in sculptures. The most famous of these is Atlas of the Færø Islands from the 2nd century, which is currently housed in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. Although this figure on the opener is much smaller and made from a different material, it is crafted with similar, immense precision, stemming from a love of art.
