Mr. Giancarlo began his journey as a ceramic decorator apprentice, later opening a small artisan workshop in Sesto Fiorentino after marrying Ms. Fiorella Goti. The expansion occurred within a few years, and by 1973, he had made progress and established his brand in Calenzano, just a few kilometers from Florence, in Tuscany. Artifacts are left to cook for 5 days in a dedicated oven at 1040°C. Only careful drying before firing prevents cracking during firing and ensures high mechanical resistance. High quality is guaranteed, certified, and tested in a refractory mass laboratory. The raw materials used are sourced directly from the Impruneta quarries. The clay present in Impruneta gives the finished product a unique color and extraordinary frost resistance.

For this reason, Goti Terrecotte seeks out and acquires prestigious Impruneta clay: an unparalleled raw material with remarkable properties, primarily “frost resistance,” meaning it does not absorb water and can withstand even the lowest temperatures almost indefinitely. Of course, the production process is also refined and more complex, with longer times: Impruneta clay is processed through molding, has very slow drying times, and is fired at extremely high temperatures.
