Description

Florentine silver-carved decorated red mirror, from the second half of the 20th century, made with a vertically extended perforated frame, adorned with a deep, repeating volutary sculpture, leafy and floral motifs surrounding the aged mirror, enclosed in an octagonal frame richly carved with acanthus leaves.

The two-tone finish, in Armenian bole, is magnificent, characterized by a warm coral-red color that contrasts with the brown parts, featuring a relief silver leaf and oxidized accents.

Its small size, craftsmanship, and chromatic effect make this wall mirror a unique addition, perfect for decorating an entrance, living room, or elegant and sophisticated surroundings.

Elegant antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for interior design. Currently, there is a growing number of enthusiasts for high-quality vintage items that possess a distinct character and soul. This is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the creation of classic and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its own distinctive features.

Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few are particularly notable. Eclectic furniture dates back to the 19th century, during the reign of the Biedermeier style. Its early 20th-century variants include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis-Philippe style, and finally the English Victorian style. By the end of the century, these styles evolved into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.

Empire-style furniture originates from the period between the late 18th and early 19th centuries, inspired by Napoleon's reign. It features significant similarities and references to Roman and Greek ornamentation.

Neoclassical furniture reflects the Louis XVI style, which also strongly references ancient architecture. Noteworthy are antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles. Baroque, derived from the Portuguese word 'barocco'—meaning irregularly developed pearl—was characterized by highly ornate furniture meant to radiate glamour and play a significant role in luxury. Materials were chosen selectively to emphasize the grandeur of these pieces.

Today, we can observe how much influence the Baroque style has had on modern classical furniture, which is designed with a strong resemblance to the historical period. The Renaissance style, flourishing in the 15th and 16th centuries, also left a significant mark on furniture craftsmanship. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and massive, often using brown stains, moldings, sturdy bases, and reliefs. These products were quite distinctive but also opened new possibilities, such as the construction of credenzas and broadly conceived chest furniture. Mythology and ancient times inspired many designs, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.

Lion paws, eagle heads—these are common features in Renaissance style furniture. Many global brands now reproduce such pieces, inspired by Italian and French artisans, as a tribute to the beauty and history of Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that furniture styles varied by country, each with its own character. This is especially important when searching for luxurious antique pieces suited to a specific interior.

The key to stylish antique furniture is originality. Ultimately, this is crucial for buyers, as many counterfeit items circulate on the market. Luxury Products provides documentation confirming the authenticity of each product, matching the description and photos.
