Description
Florentine silver-carved decorated red mirror, from the second half of the 20th century, made with a vertically extended perforated frame, adorned with a deep, repeating volutary sculpture, leafy and floral motifs surrounding the aged mirror, enclosed in an octagonal frame richly carved with acanthus leaves.
The bi-color finish, in Armenian bole, is magnificent, characterized by a warm coral-red hue that contrasts with the brown parts, featuring a relief silver leaf and oxidized accents.
Its small size, craftsmanship, and chromatic effect make this wall mirror a unique addition, perfect for decorating an entrance, living room, or an elegant and refined setting.
Elegant antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for interior design. Currently, there is a growing number of enthusiasts for high-quality vintage items that possess a distinct character and soul. This is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the creation of classic and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its own distinctive features.
Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few are particularly notable. Eclectic furniture originates from the 19th century, during the reign of the Biedermeier style. Its early 20th-century variants include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis-Philippe style, and the English Victorian style. By the end of the century, these styles evolved into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.
Empire-style furniture dates from the late 18th to early 19th centuries. It was influenced by Napoleon’s reign, emphasizing similarities and references to Roman and Greek ornamentation.
Neoclassical furniture reflects the Louis XVI style, which also strongly references ancient architecture. Antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles are also interesting and noteworthy. Baroque, derived from the Portuguese word 'barocco'—meaning irregularly developed pearl—was characterized by highly ornate furniture meant to exude splendor and play a significant role in luxury. Materials were selectively used to emphasize the grandeur of these pieces.
Today, we can observe how the Baroque style has significantly influenced modern classical furniture, which often closely resembles the historical period. The Renaissance style, flourishing in the 15th and 16th centuries, also left a major mark on furniture design. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and massive, using brown stains, moldings, strong bases, and reliefs. These products were quite distinctive but also introduced new possibilities, such as the construction of credenzas and broadly defined chest furniture. Mythology and ancient themes were also popular, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.
Lion paws, eagle heads—these are common features in Renaissance-style furniture. Currently, many global brands reproduce such furniture inspired by Italian and French craftsmen, demonstrating admiration and respect for the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that each country had its own perception of furniture making, and each style had its unique character. This is especially important when seeking a luxurious antique that fits perfectly into your interior.
The key aspect of stylish antique furniture is originality. Ultimately, this is crucial for buyers, as the market is flooded with fakes. Luxury Products provides documentation confirming the authenticity of each item, matching the description and photos. We also have appraisers, art experts, historians, and specialists from around the world at your disposal.
