Sartori is an Italian brand born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for high-quality design with a traditional handcrafted knotting technique. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling stylish rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, and later in 1920, the second in Rovigo, selling home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori's innovative rug designs started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand embraced this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the whole world. These exciting rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded to such an extent that it required opening a headquarters in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. Building on the collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., this innovative idea paved the way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, made from noble materials, perfectly suited to contemporary environments and the needs of modern furniture.
All our rugs are entirely handcrafted using exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international company selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-made designer rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
