The manufactory mainly focuses on designing and creating umbrellas with an extensive collection of patterns, styles, and handles. These are unique masterpieces of functional art, entirely produced in Italy, in a special sector, and distributed in the best boutiques worldwide. In the countryside near Mantova, there is still someone who handcrafts luxurious umbrellas and exports them to every corner of the world, using a brand that will soon celebrate its 65th anniversary: Pasotti. This Italian brand is distinguished by creativity and a consistent search for materials, exclusively Italian: including enameled brass handles, Swarovski® crystals, noble silk fabrics, and magnificent decorations.
"The company was founded in 1956," explains owner Mrs. Eva Giacomini, "by her mother Ernesta Pasotti, who started producing one-of-a-kind umbrellas, selling them directly, sometimes riding a bicycle. Later, together with the current owner’s father Vittorio, who was mainly involved in sales, the company grew from a small artisan workshop into a large enterprise employing over a hundred workers. Today, there is no room for such large-scale industrial production, so the brand has scaled down and mainly focuses on exclusive limited-edition umbrellas. They produce 40,000 handmade umbrellas annually: these are very high-quality products sold in the most prestigious boutiques in 75 countries. 93% of our turnover is abroad, mainly in Europe, North America, Russia, and China. Beyond the Pasotti collection, the company is proud of a range of private label collaborations with some of the world's most renowned fashion brands."
The international market is truly growing, thanks to Nicola and Andrea Begotti, the next generation involved in the most important fashion weeks and heavily investing in online presence, thereby increasing brand recognition.
Italian production of luxury umbrellas has been passed down from generation to generation.
