Xemex is among the young watch brands that place the greatest emphasis on Design.
The designer of Xemex is Ruedi Kling, born in 1935, who has been involved in design since the beginning. He created major advertising campaigns and image for companies such as “Sinalco” and “Bic”. His graphic works and Xemex watches can be admired at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Chicago Museum of Architecture and Design, the London Design Museum, and the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
When designing for others was no longer enough, Ruedi Kling decided to pursue his dreams and started designing for himself, choosing watches.
It all began with an attempt to transfer a clock known from railway stations into a wristwatch format. Following the success of this project, the designer launched his brand, XEMEX.
The company was founded in 1996 and immediately gained favor among people connected with the world of design.
In 2000 and 2001, the brand won first place in the “Innovation of the Year” competition in Germany and the USA.
In 2006, Xemex took third place in the “Watch of the Year” competition “Die Goldene Unruh,” initiated by Focus magazine and Uhrenmagazin.
