Their leather is hand-selected, firm, and durable full-grain cowhide, which is beautiful, long-lasting, and tanned using traditional and natural vegetable tanning processes. Full-grain leather is considered the strongest and most durable type of leather. It is designed to be moisture-resistant and to look better with age. Jekyll & Hide adhere to principles and practices that respect animals and the environment, allowing for the production of authentic leather collections. Therefore, no harmful chemicals are used in the tanning process.

Most of their products are elegant leather goods. This will not change, but today they pay more attention to doing it differently.

RECYCLING MATERIALS

In line with their sustainability declaration, the brand has started replacing all their fabrics with 100% recycled materials, sourced from used plastic bottles. To date, they have recycled and diverted over 95,000 plastic bottles from landfills and oceans.

SPEKBOOM PROJECT

The company partnered with a dynamic local nursery to help offset their carbon footprint through the cultivation and maintenance of Spekboom. This proud South African succulent is one of the most effective plants in the world for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. For this project, Jekyll secured their own hectare of land and plans to grow around 6,000 plants in 2020.
