iMuranesi is a unique venture born in the mind of Giampaolo Barbiní. He brought with him the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with Murano glass production.

The Barbiní family is one of the respected medieval lineages. These glassmakers established their presence on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by decree of the Council of Ten, the Barbiní family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, at that time, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be admired today in the Glass Museum on the island of Murano.
