iMuranesi is a unique venture born in the mind of Giampaolo Barbini. He brought with him the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with Murano glass production.

The Barbini family is one of the most respected medieval dynasties. These glassmakers established their presence on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by decree of the Council of Ten, the Barbini family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be admired today at the Glass Museum on Murano island.
