The idea for this brand was born in the imagination of Giampaolo Barbini. He brought with him the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with the creation of Venetian glass.

The Barbini family is one of the renowned medieval dynasties. These glassmakers have been present on the island of Murano since the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by order of the Consiglio dei Dieci, the Barbini family was inscribed in the Golden Book of the Murano Society of Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, at that time, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men facing each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be admired at the Murano Glass Museum.
