Manufactory Cioccolateria Vetusta Nursia was founded in 1985. Initially, it operated from a small artisan workshop and distributed some of its first products in central Italy: bars, nougats, Easter eggs, chocolates with real black truffles. Later, it expanded to produce for both domestic and international markets.

Two main principles of Cioccolateria Vetusta Nursia are traditional craftsmanship and the excellence of raw materials. Initially, the company focused solely on chocolate production. Over time, the Italian brand decided to add shortcrust and sourdough pastries to its offer.

Cioccolateria Vetusta Nursia places great emphasis on monitoring every stage of production, from raw material selection to the finished product. They attach utmost importance to quality, craftsmanship, and packaging.

In 1926, Dante Scapigliati opened his confectionery in Florence, utilizing experience in producing biscuits and baked goods gained over years working at the cookie factory “Digerini e Marinai”. Facing a modern consumer society, his son Giorgio was able to maintain artisan quality while respecting the need for larger-scale production. This was made possible by the design of some machines that faithfully replicate the “handmade” process.

Today, Giorgio’s sons, Roberto and Daniele, continue the confectionery tradition with respect, passion, and dedication. They seek out the best ingredients and constantly improve recipes in their daily work.
