Manufactory Cioccolateria Vetusta Nursia was established in 1985. Initially, it operated from a small artisan workshop and distributed some of its first products in central Italy: bars, nougats, Easter eggs, chocolates with real black truffles. Later, it expanded to produce for both domestic and international markets.

Two main guiding principles of Cioccolateria Vetusta Nursia are traditional craftsmanship and excellence of raw materials. Initially, the company focused solely on chocolate production. Over time, the Italian brand decided to add shortcrust and sourdough baked goods to its offer.

Cioccolateria Vetusta Nursia places great emphasis on monitoring every stage of production, from raw material selection to the finished product. They prioritize quality, craftsmanship, and packaging.

In 1926, Dante Scapigliati opened his confectionery in Florence, leveraging his experience in producing biscuits and baked goods gained over years working at the cookie factory “Digerini e Marinai”. Facing a modern consumer society, his son Giorgio managed to preserve artisan quality while respecting the need for higher production, thanks to the design of some machines that faithfully replicate the “handmade” method.

Today, Giorgio Scapigliati’s sons, Roberto and Daniele, continue the family confectionery tradition with respect, passion, and dedication. They seek out the best ingredients and constantly improve recipes in their daily work.
