The history of the Sheaffer brand dates back to 1907, when in Fort Madison, Iowa (USA), Walter A. Sheaffer invented the lever-filling fountain pen. W. Sheaffer's innovative vision and pioneering approach led to inventions such as Skrip ink (1922), the Touchdown filling mechanism (1949), and the integrated nib (1959).
