iMuranesi is an artistic project born in the mind of Giampaolo Barbiní. He brought to it the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with glassmaking in Murano.
The iMuranesi models are unique thanks to the synergy of many equally important elements. These include harmony of detail, the use of innovative manufacturing techniques, sophisticated and modern design, and a strong connection between top designers and glass artisans.
It is currently a popular international brand that combines modernity with the traditional values of Murano glass.
The Barbiní family is one of the most respected medieval lineages. These glassmakers established their presence on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by order of the Consiglio dei Dieci council, the Barbiní family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society of Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, the Barbiní clan was granted a family crest – featuring two bearded wise men facing each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be seen at the Murano Glass Museum.
