In the 1950s, when the innovative Sartori carpet pattern started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand capitalized on this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the whole world. In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it required establishing headquarters in China. An important project was launched in 2008. Collaborating with Diesel S.p.a., the innovative idea paved the way: using old carpets to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This gave birth to the Vintage Patchwork Carpet, which tells a story of rebirth: classic or antique carpets are faded, cut, repainted, and hand-sewn. This process results in a unique and very special rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly fits modern environments and the needs of contemporary furniture.
