Misako Azumai is a young, highly talented artist who, immediately after graduating from high school, began studying traditional Japanese lacquer techniques at the Kyoto School of Traditional Art. Her graduation piece was exhibited at MIA in Italy. After learning Kyo Maki-e techniques under the guidance of master Tadao Kunieda, she started creating works in her distinctive style. Her craftsmanship is highly appreciated for its delicate and feminine style.
