"Susutake" (Smoked Bamboo) refers to a rare type of bamboo wood obtained from roofs covered with thatch of traditional Japanese houses built over a hundred years ago.

Exposing bamboo wood to the smoke of "Irogi" in a traditional Japanese kiln gives it a beautiful, dark reddish-brown natural color. Susutake is a very rare and difficult-to-acquire wood, making it an exceptionally expensive material for manufacturing.

The pen is filled with ink from a bottle via a convenient converter or cartridges. It features a gold Nagahara 21k nib.
The pens are made only upon individual order, so if currently unavailable, the lead time may be up to 40 days.
