The Shima Kuwa pen is handcrafted entirely from the highest quality mulberry wood sourced from the small island of Mikurajima in the Izu archipelago, known for its rare natural resources. Mulberry is a material used in Japan for producing exceptional gifts for the Royal Family and corporate executives. This extraordinary pen is inspired by the style of pens produced by Sailor at the beginning of its 100-year history. The unique anchor pattern—symbol of the company—has been designed onto the clip.

The beauty of mulberry wood is highlighted by the application of 'Fuki-Urushi' lacquer. The pen cap below the clip is decorated with powdered gold using the maki-e technique.

The 21k gold nib features stylized inscriptions of 100 Years and an anchor as the company's signature mark.
The entire set is presented in a beautiful wooden box hand-lacquered with Urushi using the Aizu Nuri technique and decorated with a maki-e factory image.
