Beyond classic chess sets, Italfama offers spectacular chess tables, whose figures evoke famous battles. This one is inspired by Sacco di Roma — the conquest and looting of Rome from May 6 to 14, 1527, by German-Hispanic troops. This event marked a symbolic end to the Renaissance in Rome.
The incredible, richly decorated chess figures evoke the Vatican side and Landsknecht — mercenary soldiers of infantry formations.
