The Pampaloni company has a multi-generational and long-standing tradition of creating exclusive items made from the highest quality materials such as 925 silver and genuine leather. As Gianfranco, Teodora, and Roberto Pampaloni explain:
We were born and raised in our family home above our factory. For us, the sound of the machines is a calming sign of the company's life, which our grandfather founded over 100 years ago and for which we have worked since childhood. As children, we spent summer months perfecting the basics of silver craftsmanship. Learning that “by hand” often involves many difficult and repetitive tasks, we developed respect for the machines that assisted us in our work. Machines are poetic instruments; just like poetry, they help us create but do not cause fatigue.
On the other hand, we find nothing poetic in the repeated praise of “handmade” items, and we believe it is a subtle lure for cynical sellers and customers who truly appreciate a piece made by expensive European hands rather than cheap third-world labor. This is a genuine nod to multi-generational and old workshops, which are increasingly closing due to unfair competition and mass production. In our factory, many processes remain manual because they achieve results that are elusive for machines. These processes help us achieve impressive outcomes, but we do not praise the “handmade” process itself.
Poetry does not come from hands but from the minds of many extraordinary people who work and continue to work in our factory. But that’s another story.
